John Graham Bernard, loving father and pizza man extraordinaire, born June 30, 1959 in Stirling, Scotland died August 27, 2019 at the Dorothy Ley Hospice, Toronto surrounded by the love of his family.

Uncle and great uncle to many grieving nieces and nephews. John will also be missed by Bandit and has gone to join Macho, another of his steadfast companions.
John will be remembered for his wonderful smile and sense of humor, his generosity, outgoing personality, his strength in the face of challenges and his determination to live independently as long as possible. He will also be remembered as owner and greeter at Milano’s Pizza, Etobicoke, home of the “best, best, best” pizza as John would tell everyone he met. A great big thank you to everyone at the Dorothy Ley Hospice and to all the wonderful people who helped John over the years

We love you Big One John and know you loved us too.

Although we grew up so far apart John ( Johnny) was always in my thoughts and those of his Aunt Dorothy (my mum). Only wish I could be with you all to say farewell.

My sincere sympathies to Diana, Heather, Matthew, and family. I will always remember John as a dear and true friend. We had many an adventure together when we were young, and like any true friend, would instantly reconnect no matter how long between get-togethers. Rest at piece, my old friend.

Our deepest condolences go out to Diana, Heather and Mathew and to all his family and friends at this sad time. Please rest assured that John is at peace and free from all pain and suffering.
Pat and I first met John when he welcomed our son, Gil, into the large family of students at York University,s Calumet College.

Love to Diana, Heather and Mathew.

I'll never forget the first time John went to the BEER STORE for us - his group of friends, hanging out at the "Bush", my parents' home around the corner from John's. We were all under age, but John, with his hairy chest, height & good looks which were WAY beyond his tender age was able to "score" for us. How excited we were! He brought the case (probably a 12-pack of Molson Canadian) to the side of the house and passed it through the basement window. Yes, we were under age, yes, it was illegal, but in hindsight, no harm was done. Just a group of kids drinking a couple beers with all our friends. John was our HERO because he was the ONLY one who could get away with it! We loved you, John! Rest in peace!
