In Celebration of

John Anthony Coutinho

December 27, 1959 -  May 18, 2023

It is with sorrow beyond words that we announce the passing of John Anthony Coutinho on May 18th, 2023.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Crystal, and daughter, Jacelyn. John was the only son of the late Francisco and Felicidade Coutinho and brother to the late Lucy Castanha (late Peter Castanha), Philomena de Sousa (late Edgar de Sousa), the late Mary Braganza (Joseph Braganza), Matilda, the late Connie Fernandez (late Ignatius Fernandez), and Lourdes Barretto (Michael Barretto). He is also survived by his various neices and nephews as well as extended family.

John was born in Kenya on December 27th, 1959. He was a talented athlete who loved playing tennis and soccer. In October 2022 (just 6 months before his passing) he completed the 42km Toronto Waterfront Marathon.

After graduating from Civil Engineering at University of Waterloo, John pursued Computer Programming and enjoyed a successful career in software development and programming.

John held many titles in his life, including software developer, brother, uncle, and neighbour, but his favorite role was being a father and husband. He loved nothing more than spending time with his daughter, Jacelyn, and was always there for her. His care and affection for his wife, Crystal, was unwavering.

John was known for cracking jokes and his light-hearted pranks. He had a great ability to make others smile, and his sense of humour will be missed.

While John left us far too soon, the impact he had on those who crossed his path will be felt for years to come.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be deeply appreciated.
