In Celebration of

Joan Tyndall (nee Poole)

September 24, 1923 -  January 26, 2019

Joan Tyndall [Poole] was 95 years old living at New Horizons Residence when she passed away January 26 surrounded by her loving family.
After growing up in Perth, Joan moved to Toronto where she graduated from Toronto General Hospital as a Nurse. Soon after, she married Stanley Beaton and had her three sons. Joan enjoyed a rich community life of friends, church, and 35 years of volunteering with Scouts Canada. In 1989, she married Stewart Tyndall and enjoyed 20 years of gardening, travel, and life in Erin, Ontario. After Stew passed, she moved back to Toronto to New Horizons where she immersed herself in new friendships and activities with family.
Joan is predeceased by her parents Norman and Christine, brothers Ray and Bob, husbands Stanley Beaton and Stewart Tyndall. She is survived by her sons Jim (Lisa), John (Jan), Ted (Alison); her seven grandchildren Lauren, Caitlin, Jenna, Jolise, Claire, Leigh, and Cooper; her 3 great grandchildren Noah, Francis, and Ethan; niece and nephews; and special friends Becky and Manuel.
A visitation will be held on January 29 from 7-9 pm followed by a service and reception on January 30 1pm at Turner and Porter Funeral home 2357 Bloor St. West, Toronto.
The family is deeply grateful for the compassion and care provided by the Kensington Hospice in Joan’s last days. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bloor Street United Church or the charity of your choice.
