In Celebration of

Jenny (Genowefa) Ofiara

May 8, 1925 -  November 29, 2023

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved mother Jenny Ofiara on November 29, 2023 at the age of 98. Beloved wife of the late Michael (1998). Predeceased by her loving daughter Amy (2013) and dear son Eugene (2018). Cherished mother of Joseph and Christine. Loving sister to Alex. Loving grandmother (Babcia) to Derrek (Elmira), Stefanie (Christopher), Michael (Mary), Jennifer (Nick) and Penny. Proud great grandmother (Prababcia) to Emma, Ethan, Steven, Ada, Ellie, Olivia, Mika, Kate, Mackenzie and Morgan.

Loving, caring for and nurturing her family was a priority for Jenny above all else, her devotion and selflessness to her family was always felt and never ended. She loved cooking, needlepoint and gardening. She would spend hours tending to her beautiful flowers, plants, bushes and trees. Many times she had to be reminded to come into the house, from the garden, for a meal. She was a kind and gentle soul who would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. Those who knew her were blessed to know an angel living amongst us on earth. Mom, we know you’ve gone back to join the angels in heaven. I’m sure Dad is waiting with open arms and red and white carnations for you.

Rest in Peace in His loving arms.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Casimir Catholic Church, 156 Roncesvalles Ave., on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Park Lawn Cemetery.

Joe and Christine,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Your Mom was a very special person. There are no words to describe this most beautiful ,wonderful, compassionate, and caring woman. I learned much from her from our long talks and tea, late at night at Harvard St. when Gene and I lived there. Her life was not always easy, yet she only remembered and spoke of the happy times, whether in the Ukraine, Austria, Northern Ontario and finally Toronto. I always say "I hope I can be as gracious and as good a Mother-in-law as Babcia is" I will always be grateful for everything she did for me, but more so for her loving care of Michael and Jennifer.
Jenny, rest now. You have earned your wings ten times over. I know that you will soar above all the angels you are meeting!
With the greatest respect and gratitude. Always in my prayers,
Sharon

You both have been wonderful children and a tremendous support for your Mom during these challenging times of her life. Your Mom was obviously a good role model for you based on the love and care you had for her and others you interacted with. Sending you lots of strength, love and friendship to help during this difficult time. Your Mom will always be there providing you guidance while you keep her very close to your hearts.
You are all in my prayers.
