In Celebration of

Jennifer Kiyonaga

March 4, 1951 -  November 17, 2024

Jennifer Ruth Kiyonaga (nee Collett), beloved wife of the late Richard Kiyonaga, cherished mother of Tomiko (Greg), Kiyomi (Orest), Hudson (Liz) and adored Nana of Asher, Caleb, Lev, Liliana and Olena, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 17, 2024, in Toronto at the age of 73.

Jennifer was a friend to everyone, and a woman known for her deep faith and love of Jesus. Her wish and mission in life was to share God’s love with all who knew her. Jennifer was a bright light, known not only for her kindness, but also for her sense of fun, joy, and laughter. She was described as “fun Nana” and “Naners” by her grandchildren, who will cherish their memories and the time spent with her.

Before retirement Jennifer was a devoted Registered Nurse for over 30 years, who was known as a fierce advocate for her patients. After retirement she took on many hobbies, including writing books and spending time with her dear friends.

Though Jennifer’s absence will be felt by many, our hearts are glad that she is rejoicing in heaven and reunited with her husband Richard, who she has missed every day since his passing.

Funeral Service will be held at St. Olaves Anglican Church (360 Windermere Avenue) Friday, November 29, 2024 at 2pm., with visitation preceding at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jennifer’s memory to World Vision Canada or a charity of your choosing.

We count it a tremendous blessing that God allowed our paths to cross in this life with Jennifer (and Richard) who we first met at Stone Church in the late 1980s. We will always cherish the friendship we had for many years, sharing life's joys and sorrows together. Jennifer was kind, loving, and generous. She had a special spark about her and wonderful sense of humour! She loved deeply - her family, friends, and especially her Saviour who she loved to speak about often. While we will always miss our faithful friend, we know she is rejoicing in heaven now. For her family, we pray that God will wrap His loving arms around each one during the painful time of grieving her passing.
