In Celebration of

Jennie Atsberger

June 14, 1933 -  July 5, 2019

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Jennie Atsberger (nee Demeda) after a courageous and hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer, in her 86th year, on July 5, 2019. Loving wife of the late Charlie (Wolodymyr) Atsberger, cherished mother to Diana, Tricia and the late Joey. Adored grandmother of Sabrina, Megan, Matthew and Nicholas. Loving sister of Mike (Mary) the late Mary (late John), the late George (late Dorothy), the late Nick (Lottie). Beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews and a large extended family.

She was often seen at her grandchildren’s' sporting events, whether it be hockey or soccer, enjoying every moment. She loved her scratch tickets and win or lose they put a smile on her face and a hole in her wallet. She led a simple life but touched so many along her journey with a warm smile, a compliment or subtle act of kindness. Her light sense of humour and love of life was evident to anyone who met her, young or old, right up until her last moments. She remained positive and accepted all things that came her way with resilience and hope. We were very fortunate to have had her in our lives for as long as we did.

We would like to recognize and thank the amazing staff at Mississauga Trillium (J Wing - 6th Floor). The patience, kindness and genuine care of doctors, nurses and support staff was beyond expectations and she was treated with dignity and respect right up until her last moments. A special thanks to Dr's C. Quinton (Laurie) and A.Hung (Kathy) for providing comfort and peace throughout the last difficult months!

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter ‘Butler’ Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W. (between Kipling and Islington Aves.) on Monday, July 8, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. with a chapel service to follow on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
