Born on January 6th, 1928 in Kricŏvo, Czechoslovakia, Jennie was predeceased by her beloved parents Frank and Anna Stoyka, her best friend and husband Francis Joseph Graham, and by her adored younger brothers Michael Stoyka and Dr William Stoyka. Her kindness, guidance and enthusiasm will be missed forever by her children Dr Kevin Graham (Christine Bear), Timothy Graham (Carol Dayus-Graham) and Anne-Marie Graham and her dear grandchildren Caitie, Bronwyn, Trent, Sarah & Julia.

Jennie’s parents immigrated with her to Canada, seeking a new life. Jennie anchored her Windsor days in the friendship and support of her extended families of loving aunts, uncles and cousins (Benca and Kricfalusi) and in her commitment to education. She graduated from Walkerville Collegiate and received her B.Sc. from the Detroit Institute of Technology, College of Pharmacy. She established herself as a Windsor pharmacist, but in a wonderful turn of fate, met and soon married her life partner Frank. Moving their young family to Toronto, Jennie turned her aptitude and determination to teaching college-level second-language English, where she brought buoyant enthusiasm and relentless precision to her new vocation, enhancing the language proficiency of generations of new Canadians.

Jennie was justifiably proud of her accomplishments, but always so much prouder of the accomplishments of the family members that she so loved and nurtured, including her brothers, children, grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews. Jennie and Frank committed their retirement years to experiencing the wider world, travelling with best friends Bruce and Norma Williams extensively and visiting with cherished in-laws Margaret and Gerry McGillivray.

On a quiet spring evening, Jennie moved on from us very much the same way that she experienced her entire life: loving others more than self, seeing only the best in all people and piously looking ahead to reuniting with her family in the next life.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, on Wednesday May 24, 2023, from 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Yorke Chapel at 11 am. on Thursday, May 25, 2023.
