It is with absolute heartbreak that we announce the passing of Jeffrey Ryan Jamieson on Monday, October 21st, 2024. He died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family and dogs. Nine and a half years ago, Jeff was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer at the young age of 43. Despite enduring over 150 rounds of chemotherapy and having multiple surgeries and procedures, he accomplished his sole wish of getting more time and experiences with his family. His beautiful family comprised of his cherished wife Andrea, his two children Sarah and Ryan, their partners Alex and Nat, and his puppies Lila and Reilly. Jeff deeply adored his wife, Andrea, his everything. After 30 years together, he still dedicated each day to making her feel cherished and loved. Jeffrey taught his daughter Sarah many lessons in life, including the importance of stepping out of your comfort zone and that time spent with your loved ones is the most important part of life. He helped her find her passions in life, taught her to never settle for anything less than happiness, and acted as an example of how to be kind, caring, and compassionate every day. Jeff was able to share the things he deeply cared for with his son, Ryan. His love of music brushed off on Ryan, resulting in a love for guitar and instilling a love of travel and football through many trips to see football games.
Although Jeff was an introvert, with his family, he was far from one. He lived life to the fullest, creating treasured memories for those he loved the most. He ensured that his time and focus was spent on helping his family embrace adventure with incredible trips, his love of music through guitar and Bruce Springsteen, and sports with his love of the Toronto Maple Leafs and football. Jeff’s parents, Pat and Ralph, whom he loved dearly, instilled in him a lifelong love of Disney that Jeff passed on to his family. No matter the ups and downs of his diagnosis, being at Disney with his family was his happy place and brought us all joy and beautiful memories that we will treasure forever. Instead of saying goodbye, we celebrate his life with a heartfelt “To infinity and beyond!”
A visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 pm this Friday, October 25th, 2024, at Markland Woods Golf Club to pay respects to Jeff and his family. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend to share and honour the wonderful memories of Jeff’s life. The family is asking for donations to be made to either COLONTOWN, a one of kind organization that helped us through Jeff’s diagnosis (https://paltown.org/jeff/), or the research conducted by Dr Raphael at Sunnybrook Hospital, Jeff’s one-of-a-kind oncologist who never gave up and worked tirelessly to give Jeff a longer, better life ( For donations, please go to https://sunnybrook.ca/foundation/content/?page=ways-to-give-champions then under departments please select “other” specify “Fund 71918, Dr Raphael’s Research”).
