My sincere condolences on the passing of your Mother. We became quite close friends when she moved to Sunrise Seniors on Burnhamthorpe Road and I'd moved from Silverstone Drive to that area. I used to drive her to church on Sunday morning. She always such a delight to be with and we always had great conversations. She will be remembered with great fondness. Rose Reid

I found a book Mom had filled in with some memories. I tried to put it in the timeline, but it got so complicated i thought i would just try to transcribe the book here. So her are her words.
"I grew up in Toronto, and used to play in the streets with all my friends. I had a great family life and a great Mother, Father and Uncle Sandy. I belonged to C.G.I.T. and wet to church twice a week. Used to play sports with all the kids in the neighbourhood just on the street. I won some trophies for bowling. Always used to go horseback riding twice a week. Her childhood friends were her twin cousins Cathy and Lou Ferguson, Josephine Stephens, Olive Knox, Elsie Rosati, Helen Brodie, Olive Bergy, Grace Scott. We all had good times together and are still friends after 75 years. I belonged to the Sons of Scotland and we had a drill team of 30 girls that went to different camps and performed. We went to church on Sundays and then for a walk. Maybe go to a show on Saturday. My first formal was at the Kind Edward hotel and wore a long blue gown. In July 1938 i started a job at G.E. (Richmond & Spadina) The first prime minister i remember is Mackenzie King. in 1938 the Dione quintuplets were born. i remember World War II was started 1939. Harold and I met Dec 24th, 1945. My girlfriend Helen Broadie asked if I would go with her and a sailor to take christmas presents to our friends. Harold was the one with the car and i fell for him the minute I saw him. When he took me home we learned we lived on the same street. We dated for 7 years and got married Feb 16, 1952. We bought a gas station in Dresden and had a lot of great times with all the Chatham people we knew. and the friends we made in Dresden. I fell head over heals with Harold. I was going with another fella and when i told him i didn't want to see him again, his mother called me.
Harold invited me to a New Years Eve Ball at the Royal York Dec 31, 1945 at the Crystal Ballroom. I wore a black dress with gold sequins and he had a black tuxedo and sure looked stunning. He proposed Christmas of 1951 with a diamond solitaire ring. We went to Olive and Bill Douglas and all went out to dinner to celebrate. I wore a white satin dress with a long train, and tiera on my head with hand embroidered pearls and a long vail. The rings were his and hers matching plain gold bands. Our reception was at the Sons of Scotland Masonic Hall on College Street. We had over 100 guests. After we left for Florida in a 1947 Pontiac we both saved up for. We put new tires on it and when we got to Washington one of the new tires had a blow out and almost ended up in a ditch. We saw Niagara Falls, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, St. Agustine, Daytona Beach, Fort Lauderdale then came back through the centre of the state stayed a Kissimee (when Disneyland did not exist) Every minute was so new and different. We were going back to a gas station we had bought and we took possession Mar. 1, 1952."
