In Celebration of

Jean Hely Lilyan Klemets

December 3, 1933 -  January 9, 2021

After 52 rich, fulfilling & wonderful years with her husband Walter and 6 more years with her children, grandchildren and extended family, Jean Klemets (nee Broijer) passed away suddenly at her home that she and Walter so lovingly enjoyed.

She was the extremely proud mother of Bruce (Lorraine) and Liisa (Richard). Grandchildren Emma, Hannah, Triston and Talia will miss their loving Mummu and spending time telling her all about what is going on with them. Relatives and friends in Canada, Finland & Australia are saddened by her passing. Jean led a full life in her 87 years.

Born in St. Catharines, in her younger years she was always busy and involved in activities like competitive dance and figure skating. Next came a UofT Phys-Ed degree, and becoming a teacher who set up a new high school phys-ed program. After meeting Walter they polka’d off to start a family in Mississauga full of busy schedules and shared fun adventures.

Jean was very social and treasured spending time with local friends and family and corresponding with the ones far away. She was active with the University Women’s Club gourmet group, hiking and skiing clubs, as well as the Finnish Social Club and in later years Kerho seniors group. Family and friends were always welcome for a pool party or backyard dinner.

She will be missed dearly.

Donations to Canadian Arthritis Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

The family funeral service was held on January 14th.

Liisa, Richard, Talia and Tristan,
Although I never got the chance to meet your Mom/Grandmother, you always spoke so warmly and highly of her. She seemed an exceptional woman who experienced life fully, with a true "joie de vivre".
You are so lucky to have called her Mom/Mummu, and she was equally blessed to have been surrounded with a loving and supportive family. I know that Jean lives on in all of you, and I am sending you all the love and support possible as you say goodbye. ♥️🙏

Jean was a big part of my life, especially when I was younger. I used to spend time with her each summer when I was young. Jean was always interested in what was going on in my life and we had many wonderful visits in her lovely backyard over the years. She was thrilled when I told her I was marrying a "Walter", since she did too. She will be missed by so many. My condolences to the family. Love and hugs, Jean.

Liisa, Richard, Triston and Talia:
Words just seem so inadequate at a time like this so we send you our thoughts and prayers every day. Remember the good times and cherish the memories, and knowing Jean as we did, there will be many of those. She was truly an amazing lady and on the few times we got to spend with her it was clear that she so enjoyed and was so proud of her family. Always cheerful and so full of life, she will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace Jean.
