In Celebration of

Jean Frances Carter

March 7, 1922 -  June 2, 2021

Jean's life on Earth came to a close in her 100th year and she is set to begin a new life in Heaven. With the mixed blessings of longevity, she lived through hardships and enjoyed a lifetime of caring for everyone she touched.

Predeceased by husband Joe,(who passed June 2nd,1974) son Leonard, daughter Jo-Anne and brothers Ted and Stan.

Her legacy lies in the family she shepherded through thick and thin, daughter Cynthia (Peter), son Gary ( Janice), grandchildren Jennifer, Ian, Spencer, Liam, Tyler and nephews D'Arcy and Kevin.

On behalf of the family our thanks to the staff of The Ukrainian Canadian Care Centre (especially those on the 3rd. floor) for their compassionate care of Jean in her latter years, and to the staff of Humber River Hospital who made her passing peaceful. We take comfort and solace in knowing Jean (Mom, Grandma), is having a joyous reunion with family and friends and is still available for our talks 24/7.

And who will ever forget the coining of "Whatsnozzle, Doofunny and Skeezix"?

A private family celebration of her life will be held on Monday June 7th.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Canadian Cancer Society or The Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Dear Cynthia, Peter & family,
Saddened to hear of the death of Cynthia's Mom from Lisa. What a long and full life she lived! Such a beautiful legacy she has left you all; countless memories, lessons learned, life and love shared. Blessings each and every one!

Yet it is never easy to say goodbye... especially in these COVID days, when the rituals that give us comfort are greatly restricted. So I am wrapping you in prayers, and sending light and love to you and yours as you gather to grieve, remember, reflect, and give thanks for the gift of Jean/Mom/Grandma. May the One who welcomed her "home"... the One who IS Love, comfort, encourage, guide, carry and sustain you in the coming days.

My heartfelt condolences to you at this sad time.
