In Celebration of

Jean Chung

November 29, 2024

Jean Chung died on November 29, 2024 after a brief illness of 11 days with given hope of recovery. Her loss is completely unexpected, and the family is shocked and profoundly saddened.

After migrating from Guyana to Canada she studied and achieve success in the banking industry.
Jean was an exemplary daughter, sister, aunt and human being. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that was seen in her care for her siblings, nieces and nephews, in-laws, entire family and all those she encountered.
Jean was a firm believer in God and the Christian principles and concepts of Faith, Hope and Love. She truly believed Love is the greatest virtue of all. She accepted everyone with an open heart and a smile and was never in a hurry to judge others.
Her passion was cooking and baking, playing the piano, painting, gardening and appreciating nature. Her daily physical activities exceeded the limits of what one might expect somebody in their eighties to be able to do.
Jean's departure from this world is a shock and it is intensely felt by her entire family, neighbours, friends and those who knew her. The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time. Thank you.

Instead of flowers or a donation to a professional charity, you may use those funds to be kind to someone you see in need in your local area.

Aunt Jean you will be terribly missed. The last time I saw you was at Aunt Barbara’s funeral in Wisconsin. You looked so radiant and healthy. We had a good time connecting as we drove around Memomie in the rental car (me , you, dad, Aunt Gertrude). Though the occasion was sad and solemn, we tried to make the best under the circumstances. We were laughing and having a good time to help cheer ourselves up! Needless to say I was shocked to hear the sudden news that you had left us on my birthday. It was my worst birthday ever!! I wished we could have spent more time together, but life got in the way. Rest in peace my beautiful Aunt Jean, Love, Terry (nephew)
