It is with great sadness that the family of Jean Adelaide (nee Turowski) Jablonski announce her passing on February 5th 2020 at the age of 87.
She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Stephanie, brother Edward and her husband Edward. Lovingly remembered by her sons Paul (Loreen), Rick (Louise), her grandchildren Amy (Cody) and great granddaughter Makenzie, Jennifer (Ty), Katie (Brian), Jake and Matthew.
Jean was a tireless worker and loving friend and parent who provided love and support to all that knew her. She was born in Winnipeg Manitoba and moved with her family shortly thereafter to Ontario eventually settling in Willowdale. She graduated from Ryerson Polytechnical School with a Fashion Design Degree and met the love of her life Edward. They were married in 1959 and began raising their family in Etobicoke. She continued to work in the field Fashion Design while also beginning to raise their family. She changed vocations, and began working for the Etobicoke Public Library Board in order to be close to home to provide support for the boys when they entered school. Once her family had grown Jean enjoyed traveling with her husband and extended family and friends throughout North America and abroad. After the passing of her husband Jean continued her passion for traveling with her family and also found a new means of supporting her community, volunteering two days a week at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre, preparing meals and providing support for Canada’s veterans for just over 25 years.
Jean was an independent woman and driven to provide for those around her. She opened her home welcoming to elderly family members who were not able to live on their own, grandchildren in school or who had relocated to the city to work, always providing a loving and nurturing environment. Jean loved to be able to spend time with her family and adored her children, grandchildren and great grand child and she will be truly missed.
