In Celebration of

Janusz Adam Budziakowski

January 11, 1940 -  November 21, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Janusz Budziakowski, whose life was marked by strength of character and devotion to his family. Janusz passed away suddenly at his home in Toronto on Thursday, November 21 , 2024, at the age of 84. He was the beloved husband of Maria for forty-two years; a dear father to Michael (Elyse), and Tomek (Alexandra); and proud grandfather to James and Benjamin. Janusz was predeceased by his parents Jozef and Karolina.

Janusz graduated with a Master of Science in civil engineering from the Warsaw University of Technology. In 1970, Janusz immigrated to Canada and studied at the University of Toronto on an academic scholarship. Janusz received his P. Eng designation and worked for the Government of Ontario at the Ministry of Natural Resources and then at the Ministry of the Environment, where he had a
distinguished career as a civil engineer, and specialist in clean water, until his retirement.

He was an impassioned athlete and proudly represented Poland on the national volleyball team. In Canada, Janusz continued to be an ardent fan of all sports and instilled the importance of both academics and athletics to his sons. Janusz especially cherished the time he spent watching his boys play soccer and hockey. He was their biggest fan and never missed a game.

Janusz appreciated the beauty of nature and was an avid gardener. Although he embraced the tranquility of gardening, he was primarily motivated by the desire to provide his loving wife with a spectacular dinner view.

He was also a true animal lover – and will be dearly missed by his labradoodle, Abby.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 27th at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel (2357 Bloor St. W.) from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Teresa Roman Catholic Church (100 Tenth St. Etobicoke) at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 28, 2024 . Interment to follow at Park Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Daily Food Bank www.dailybread.ca.

Janusz was an exceptional family man. How he loved his two boys, his grandchildren, and especially his beloved wife, Maria!
He had a zest for life, and that extended to his love of Nature and his kindness to animals.
I am certain his beloved dog must be missing him beyond everything.
He gave his best to his community and he took great pride in the work he performed. Janusz truly was an extraordinary man!
My deep condolences to his family in this sorrowful time.

Over the last number of years we have enjoyed many life celebrations with Janusz and Maria - weddings, birthdays, holiday celebrations and the births of our grandsons.
He was always the perfect gentleman, polite and caring, plus the best dressed man I knew. He will be missed by family and friends. ❤️
