It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Janice Jane Tonna on January 17, 2024, at Credit Valley Hospital. Born on August 3, 1981, Janice was the beloved daughter of Lorraine and the late Mario Tonna, and a cherished sister to Joanne Vassallo, Jennifer Boucher, and the late Joyce Brown. Sister-in-law to Marcel and Kevin. Aunt to Ashely, Kimberly, Kody, Emma, Mikayla, and Jaxxon. Cousin to many here in Canada and Malta.

Janice was a soul who radiated warmth and kindness. Janice lived and practiced her Roman Catholic faith in her daily life and actions. One of Janice’s passions was writing short stories and letting her imagination run. Janice's family was the center of her world, and her love for her nieces and nephews knew no bounds. Her compassion, paired with her gentle nature, made her a beacon of love and support for her family and friends.

While we mourn the loss of a remarkable soul, let us also celebrate the richness of her life and the impact she had on those fortunate enough to know her.

A visitation service will be held on January 26th from 9:15-10:15 a.m. at Turner and Porter Neweduk- Erin Mills Chapel, 1981 Dundas Street West, Mississauga. A mass will follow at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, 2300 Burnhamthorpe Rd., Mississauga, on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. After the mass, Janice will be laid to rest at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, 6933 Tomken Rd, Mississauga.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Muscular Dystrophy in Janice's name.
