Janet "Sherrill" (Tuggey) Shaver

June 4, 1925 -  November 6, 2022

Peacefully at Garden Terrace LTC in Kanata.

Born in Metis Beach, Quebec, she started working at the post office there during World War II and for years after before marrying Rev. Wm. Shaver, moving to Ontario and having five children in six years.
She was awarded lifetimetime membership in the Canadian Bible Society and held leadership positions in the United Church Women and Canadian Girls in Training and will be remembered for her infectious laugh, quick wit, courage and lifelong support for the Montreal Canadiens. She and Bill served congregations in Wiarton, Dutton, St. Catharines and Simcoe in Ontario as well as Metis Beach and Richmond in Quebec and in Kingston, Jamaica.

Predeceased by her husband, Bill, parents Sydney and Minnie Tuggey, brothers Blair (Jeanine) and Delmer Tuggey, and children Arlene (Michael Zeller) and Ila Ruth Shaver, she is survived by three generations of children, Andrea (Benoit Long), Wes and Brock Shaver, Adriane and Riley Zeller, Kelly (Steve Frechette) and Katie Shaver, Etienne (Jessica) and Genevieve Long, and Raina, Victoria and Skyler, all of whom would like to thank the healthcare providers and neighbours at Garden Terrace for their care and friendship

Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy 10 N. of QEW) on Wednesday, November 9 from 10-11 a.m. followed by the funeral service. Interment will be at Bethesda United Church cemetery, Ancaster, ON, following the service.
