In Celebration of

Janet Amos

January 29, 1942 -  November 15, 2023

Janet Amos, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on November 15th, 2023, leaving a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories. She was 81 years old at the time of her peaceful departure, surrounded by the love of her family.

Janet was known for her grace and resilience, and she shared a beautiful 56-year love story with her husband Ross Amos, who was the love of her life. They met in Janet's hometown of Hamilton, Ontario, and their love story was filled with laughter, love, and unwavering companionship. Janet was a devoted wife and mother, and her family was her life's passion.

Janet is survived by her loving husband Ross, children Jim and Carolyn, Daughter-in-law Tawnya, Son-in-Law Derek, and her brother Murray. Janet adored her grandchildren: Max, Matthew, Brett, and Michael, and her love for them always shone through her sparkling eyes.

Janet was an artist who found joy and solace in her creative work. Her paintings were a testament to her creative spirit and the beauty she saw in the world.

Janet was a generous and loving person, and she formed meaningful connections with friends and community members. Her warm and welcoming nature made her a beloved figure in the lives of many. She had great friends all over Canada, especially in Calgary and Toronto/Mississauga.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Janet's life at a visitation on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 6-9 p.m, and a memorial service, on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 1 p.m, both at Turner & Porter, 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga.

In honour of Janet's memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Autism Ontario, a cause that reflects her love for her grandson Matthew.

Jan was my dearest Baie D’Urfe friend and I hold cherished memories in my heart and my head. Our friendship never wavered over many decades despite our distant locations. I will forever treasure our honest and true relationship as confidants and just great friends.

Jan was a gracious lady. She had been a nurse and enjoyed retirement by pursuing activities such as painting and entertaining her family and friends. Jan told me of her close encounters with her two brothers, Peter and Murray. Jan's husband, Ross, supported her and they had many visits with their children, James and Carolyn and their spouses and four grandsons.
