In Celebration of

Jane Elisabeth Morrison

March 26, 1946 -  May 18, 2021

Jane Morrison, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 18 at the Dorothy Ley Hospice, Etobicoke.

Jane had a happy childhood in Devon, England with her siblings Jonathan and Julie, and parents Joyce and John. After graduating college, she followed her dreams to travel and became a flight attendant. She met Bill in Toronto, fell in love, married, and never looked back. Together they had 2 children David and Eva, and two grandchildren Naomi and Theo, and two in-laws Amy and Scott. Jane dedicated her life to her family and was the most wonderful wife, Mum, and Granny in the world.

Jane is well known for her caring and generous nature and has always volunteered to help make people’s lives better, most recently as a peer support at Wellspring cancer support center. She had many friends and felt the importance of those connections. She always made people feel special. She was a compassionate listener and always knew just what to say. We all benefitted from her wisdom, sense of humour, loving nature, and happy outlook. She found a silver lining in every situation.

Throughout her illness, Jane received exceptional care and a heartfelt thanks to all the doctors, nurses, support workers and staff at Credit Valley and Princes Margaret hospitals and at the Dorothy Ley Hospice for their compassionate care.

Friends and relatives are invited to join the family for memorial visitation at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel (2357 Bloor St. W., Toronto, just east of Jane St.) on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 1-3 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Wellspring, Oakville (https://wellspring.ca/).

I would like to express my sympathy to the Morrison family. I was very sorry to hear of Jane's passing. I have fond child hood memories of "tea time" around their kitchen table after school with Eva and Jane. Jane exuded warmth and was always very welcoming. I am so sorry for your loss.
