It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of James Thomas Paradine, or Jim, to all who knew and loved him. Jim passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on November 22, 2024. Born on October 10, 1940, Jim would often say he was born 10-10-40.
Jim was the beloved husband of Marjorie (nee King) and a devoted father to Alison (Dennis) and Andrea (Dave). He was the wise and adored Grandpa to Erin, Justin, Gwyneth, and Vanessa.
Son of the late Alexander and Jean Paradine (nee Williamson) he was predeceased by his brother John (Joan). Jim will be sadly missed by his siblings Mary Britnell, Kenneth Paradine (Bette Ann) and Penny Cameron (Doug). Lovingly remembered by sister-in-law, the late Jeanette Lambie (Russ), brothers-in-law Ed King (Ann), Doug King (Pat) , many treasured cousins and nieces and nephews.
Fondly remembered by many dear friends.
Jim and Marj met at Clevelands House in the summer of 1957, married in 1964 and celebrated their 60th Anniversary on July 3, 2024.
Jim graduated from the University of Toronto in 1963 and moved into the world of finance where his work was enhanced by his volunteer work in the community treating others with respect and warming their hearts with his sense of humour.
Jim was passionate about his love of family, his love of jazz and his love of sports, especially playing Old–Timer hockey every Thursday night, skiing weekends at Caledon Ski Club and yearly in the Rockies of western Canada.
Above all, Jim was a loyal friend, a wonderful husband, and a much loved father.
He will be deeply missed.
