My heartfelt condolences to the family. Jim Boyd was a mentor and dear friend to me when I was under his leadership at Oshawa Foods.
I always thought of Jim as a wonderful father figure to me. He taught me patience, humility and most of all how to try to work with other people.
I remember when I had my first job interview with Jim, he didn't ask me a single thing about the work I was hired do and that confused me. When I questioned it after-words I was told that Jim already knew I could do the work, what he wanted to make sure of was that I would fit into his department.
I'll miss his wisdom, guidance and wonderful sense of humour.
Jim was a great man to work for at Oshawa Group he will be missed by all that new him.
Jim was the first Boss I had the privilege of working for. He was the epitome of a true gentle and wonderful family man. I will be forever greatful to have known Jim and everything that he taught me regarding work and life.
My condolences to the Boyd family. I worked with Jim at Oshawa Foods. He was a real gentleman and stand up guy. So sorry for your loss.
I will indeed miss Jim He was my mentor and guidence for some 27years I did enjoy working with him. We got a lot of work done and he made the job fulfilling and fun. In later years, after Oshawa, he took a genuine interest in how I was doing. A touch base phone call could last hours. That Engieering Dept was major in his life. He enjoyed the people and we all enjoyed working with him. That Boyd sense of humour was fantastic. Jan, Alex, Stephen and families our thoughts are with you. He was so special.
