In Celebration of

Iwona Borys

January 31, 1964 -  October 31, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Iwona Borys (née Klewinowska) on Friday, October 31, 2025. She passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer, at Credit Valley Hospital.

Beloved mother of Evelyn and Christian (Jessica), and adored Baci to Emma and Max. She will be forever in our hearts.

Born in Stargard, Poland, where she spent her formative years before moving to Canada, Iwona found her greatest joy in time spent with her family and friends. She passed her love of sports, especially tennis and skiing, along with her passion for travel and adventure to her children and grandchildren.

She was the heart of our small, tight-knit family, and her presence will remain with us always. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she brightened. Though she may be gone from our sight, her love and legacy will continue to live on in our hearts, growing stronger with every memory we carry.

We would like to thank the Palliative Team at Credit Valley, who gave Iwona wonderful care at the end of her life.

Friends may call at Turner & Porter Neweduk Chapel - Erin Mills Chapel, 1981 Dundas Street West, Mississauga on Friday, November 7. There will be a visitation at 2pm, followed by a prayer service at 3pm and a reception between 4-7pm. Burial will follow at a later date, at Assumption Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Emily’s House, children’s hospice in Iwona’s memory. Link at the bottom of the page.

Hello—sending my family’s deepest condolences to yours. Evelyn and Christian, your mom is etched into my childhood memories of Canada. I still remember coming over to play after school and even when we moved to Florida, still going swimming in your pool and visiting your home. I wanted to share that your mom’s no nonsense, direct and frank manner still equally scare and inspire me to this day. She was a strong and formidable woman. Her honesty was refreshing so I knew when she smiled, she meant it. I also remember her letting me stage at her flower shop one year. It still cracks me up that she asked you, Evelyn, if I was stupid for wanting to work at a flower shop. Haha. Every time I clean roses, I’ll think of her. Praying for her eternal rest and knowing my Dad is helping to welcome her to Heaven. We are here if ever you guys need anything—including a visit to Vegas. With love, Leah (Andrew), Eileen, and Fe Villanueva
