In Celebration of

Ivan Zoretich

July 30, 1948 -  June 11, 2022

With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of our husband, Tata, brother and Deda, Ivan Zoretich. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Mary, daughters Nancy (Americo), Diane (Allan), and son Steven. Grandchildren Matteo, Alessia, and Juliana. Sisters Sylvia (Rocco), Zora, niece (Stefanie), and nephews (Michael) (David).

Ivan met the love of his life on New Year’s Eve 1978, they fell in love and married on August 30, 1980. Shortly after they welcomed 2 beautiful daughters, and finally in 1987 a son to complete the family. Mary and Ivan were fondly referred to as Mikey and Minnie mouse by their three children. A true example of 2 people in love, they found joy in travelling together, making meals for the family, and were often spotted on neighborhood walks holding each other’s hands.

Ivan was a dedicated father. He worked long hours and shift work to make sure that his children were taken care of. He taught his kids the value of hard work and always supported them. He was the center of his family’s universe and everyone’s “go-to” guy. As great of a father as he was, he was an even better Deda. Once his grandchildren started arriving all bets were off. His love and joy for them had no bounds.
Ivan was a true lover of nature, he loved being outdoors and gardening. He took great pride in his lawn and advised us to always talk to our plants so they would grow. He was a huge sports fan. He never gave up on his Maple Leafs and wore his Croatian jerseys proudly.

Ivan will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A gentle man, with a heart of gold. A fighter, a cancer survivor, and our hero. His generosity was limitless, and he always thought of everyone before himself.

Our hearts are broken, and our family will never be the same. We will forever remember the love, sincerity, and kindness we experienced from our Ivan, Tata and Deda. He will forever live on in our hearts and memories. He is now our guardian Angel.
