In Celebration of

Irene Stirling

March 10, 1934 -  January 7, 2023

Irene was born on March 10, 1934 in Shawinigan, Quebec to Arthur Andersen from Stavanger, Norway and Ruth Rosanowsky from Kristiansand, Norway.

Irene completed a teaching degree at MacDonald College, Quebec in the 1950’s and had a short career as a model.

Residing in Quebec for many years and bringing up her family of three boys, she moved to Mississauga, Ontario in 1979 where she made many friends and acquaintances particularly at the squash club (ORC), where she was a top women’s player well into her 70’s. Irene was a gifted gardener and every year she created a beautiful flower garden by the pool for all to enjoy. In her later years, she trained her Labrador Retriever (Billy Dog) to do many amazing tricks and they performed together at long term care homes for the residents. She had a tremendous sense of humour and really enjoyed a good pun.

Irene is survived by her brother Arthur Andersen and five sons: Peter Mosher (Anne), John Mosher, John Stirling (Kristy), Peter Stirling (Marissa), David Mosher (Nancy); and 11 grandchildren: Mark (Christa), Erin (Mike), Emma, Douglas, Andrew, Connelly, Theo, Hyla, Victoria, Benjamin, and Carla; and a great grandchild, Freya; and by her beloved dog, Kingsley.
Irene spent her final years at Erin Mills Long Term care home where she was well looked after and frequently visited by her loving husband John, sons, and friends.

Irene was much loved by all and remembered as a beautiful, outgoing and athletic woman, mother, and friend.
