I am devasted of the passing of Irene. I knew this lovely lady through her daughter Dianne. She was a breath of fresh air and a wonderful sense of humour. She was always so accepting of anyone she met. Please accept my sincere condolences to family and friends of this beautiful angel. You will be missed xoxo. Rest in peace

Ted, Krisha, Dianne and the entire Skrzypkowski clan ..... our sincerest condolences on the loss of your Mom. I'll always remember our chats together, and Irene's great sense of humour. She always left me with a smile on my face. I still can't figure out how she knew it was me when I showed up at her door one Halloween evening while shelling out with my kids and dressed up as Freddy Kruger. Obviously she knew me much better than I thought. Irene was one sweet lady, and she'll be missed. She can now join 'Little Ricky' and Frank in a much, much better place.
Please know that you're in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Dianne Ted and Christine (Chrisha). Feeling for you in your time of loss. Your mother was a true loving sincere person. Hadn’t drop by in a while, but remember my last visit to Lessard on a pleasant June Sunday much like today and enjoy seeing your mom and experiencing her warmth and sense of humour. My thoughts are with you all. Mike

Normally around this time of year we gather together in my parents back yard and have a BBQ and celebrate Irene’s birthday.. This year is a little different, instead we are together to celebrate her life.

When my mom met Ted, not only did I gain an amazing father , but a wonderful family, and at the heart of this family was Irene.

Irene welcomed my mom, brother and I with open arms and always treated us like her own. In those days it was not as common as it is today. She was a woman always ahead of her time.

I have many wonderful memories spending time at her house on Lessard Ave. Scott and I used to go there each summer for a few days. We would go the the corner store for candy, play in the park at then end of the road, and each summer we took the bus to the public pool to swim all day.. as long as we were back in time for the Y and R. Irene was always up to speed on all the latest entertainment news. Who was dating who., who was getting married, divorced, having kids etc.

Christmas eve was always spent at her home and in more recent years at my moms, Secret Santa was so fun with her…. If she had a gift she liked..there was no way you could steal it.

If you ever wanted a compliment, she was the first one to give it. She always told me ..Laurie… you never age.. you still look 16! At 20 it wasn’t what you wanted to hear but as I got older I loved it.
She never forgot a birthday and always found the time to mail a card.

Her life had not been easy but her spirit was incredible. For a small person she had a huge heart.

So today in closing I just want us all to reflect on Irene.. and try each day to be more like her. Compliment people when you can.. be caring.. and above all be kind. Just like she always was.

Rest in peace sweet Grandma Irene, we love you and we will miss you.
