April 29, 1928 -  May 17, 2021

It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to our Beloved Mother Irene Marhin (née Irene Sobol) on May 17th, 2021 at the age of 93.

Irene was born on April 29, 1928, in Bois-Colombes, France. She worked in a plastic mold factory. In France, she met her future husband, Michael, and emigrated to Montreal, Canada where she got married. She had two children; Pierre and Elizabeth. Later the family moved to Toronto. There, Irene worked for over 25 years at the Salvation Army Nursing Home. She enjoyed knitting and doing word searches. She was often seen knitting a sweater for her children and grandchildren.
The last two years of her life, she spent at the Ivan Franco Home on Winston Churchill Blvd.
She leaves behind her son Pierre with his wife Margaret, grandchildren; Andrew (Amanda) and Eric (Ashley), and great-grandchildren Paisley and Bryce Marhin.
She also leaves behind her daughter Elyzabeth with her husband Peter, along with her grandchildren; Stephanie, Nadia, Dana, and Andy Wegierak.

May she rest in Peace!

Due to Covid restrictions, a private family service will be held at St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Cemetery also known as Oak Memorial Gardens.
