With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ilda Camara, on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

She passed suddenly, but peacefully, with her daughters Maria, Helena, and Ana by her side.

Ilda was a devoted wife to our father, Carlos Camara, who predeceased her on July 22, 1993.

She was the loving mother of Maria and her husband Jose Moreira, Helena and her husband Joe Pontes, and Ana and her husband Ricardo Correia.

She leaves behind a legacy of love as the proud Vavó to her five grandchildren: Justin Pontes (Partner Angela, Sabrina and Julian), Paul Moreira (Wife Ashley), Samantha Correia (Partner Rick), Veronica Pontes, and Amanda Moreira (Fiancé Ivan). Her great-granddaughter, Juliana Pontes, was her absolute pride and joy.

Ilda was predeceased by her siblings: brothers George Medeiros and Antonio Medeiros, and her sister Encarnação Medeiros.

Our mother leaves us with a shining example of love, patience, strength, compassion, and unwavering devotion.

Family and friends are invited to Turner & Porter – Neweduk - Erin Mills Chapel, Mississauga on Sunday, May 25, 2025 from 4-8 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, in Streetsville on Monday, May 26, 2025 at 10:30 a.m.

Interment to follow at Streetsville Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.

Together again, in eternal peace and love.
