In Celebration of

Ihor Jaciw

May 22, 1930 -  June 13, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather, husband and brother - Ihor Jaciw, who departed from this world on June 13th 2024. Born to Wasyl and Sofia on May 22, 1930, in Stryj, Ukraine, Ihor lived a full and remarkable life, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, creativity and dedication.

Ihor is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Nina (Natalia) Jaciw. Their enduring partnership was a testament to a lifetime of love and commitment. He was a devoted father to his children: Tatiana (Eduardo) Kowryga, Peter (Xiaoping) Jaciw, and Rimma (Franco) D'Orazio. He also leaves behind his cherished sister, Luba and his grandchildren Ricardo and Luca D'Orazio, who brought joy to his life.

A man of many passions and talents, Ihor found great joy in the outdoors. He loved fishing and hunting in Kenora and other parts of northern Ontario, often sharing these adventures with family and friends as well as teaching his children and grandchildren. His entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly when he started his own business, Good Boy Furniture, and pioneered TV and appliance sales and service. He and his wife were well known as the couple who would do whatever they could to help you furnish a beautiful home for countless families. They made a significant impact to the community!

In addition to his business acumen, Ihor had a deep connection to the land. He ran a successful 100 acre hobby farm where he raised prize-winning Limousin cattle and proudly owned two Canadian champion bulls. His dedication to excellence in all his endeavors was evident in the success and recognition he achieved.

Ihor's life was one of hard work, passion, and unwavering commitment to his family and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

He is now reunited with his parents, siblings, his son Richard and his grandson Nikolas. Rest in peace, Ihor. Your legacy of commitment and dedication will never be forgotten.

Rimma, Tatiana, Peter: I’ve just heard of your father’s passing and I wanted to send my deepest condolences to you all. An interesting and remarkable life indeed! I loved it when he called us Kitsynew! I bought my first stereo from him, all my furniture for my first apartment when I moved out! Riding that elevator at Good Boy to his office lol! I couldn’t afford anything and he told me to come and he will look after me and he did. He always had a way of making us ladies feel special. He was so handsome. I remember how disappointed I was when we were all up at the cottage for an event and a bee stung his tongue when he took a sip of his beer he had just arrived with your mom and he had to leave for the hospital. Selfishly I wanted to be near him and around his Aura.. even though I knew it would be only for a few minutes. He knew how to light up a room. A special man. A generation gone to be with the Lord and the rest of his buds and family. May God watch over you and your mom and family as you work through your personal feelings and loss. May he rest in paradise Vichnaya Pamiyat. Tsiom always L. ♥️🙏🏼
