It is with heavy hearts but a sense of peace that we announce the passing of Helen King at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on Saturday, February 15 in her 97th year. Predeceased by the love of her life, Charles H. King, infant son James, parents Brownie (Walker) and Myron Barrett as well as brother Jack Barrett. Wonderful and loving mother of Peter (Sandra) King of London, Susan King of Oakville, Barbara (Rick) Galipeau of Dundas. Will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren Lauren (Ed), Matthew (Lindsay), Anna (Heidi), David (Katie), Julie (Brenden), Fraser (Anita), Graeme, Taylor (Laura), as well as great-grandchildren Gia, Nate, Elle, Aidan, Ben, Evelyn, Amelia, London and Quinton.
Helen will be missed by her many friends in London, Mississauga and Oakville. She was an active member of her Anglican Church Community as well as the Chancel Guild at St. Aidan’s (London) and St. Peter’s (Erindale). A lover of the Arts, Helen enjoyed music, ballet, theatre, gardening, painting, a game of bridge, travelling with family and friends and spending time at the beloved family cottage on Crystal Lake.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at St. Peter’s Anglican Church- Erindale (Mississauga Rd. and Dundas St., Mississauga) with the Reverend Canon Jennifer Reid officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at Preston Cemetery in Cambridge.
