It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Helen Jouras, on Thursday, October 9, 2025. Helen was predeceased by her devoted husband, James. She is survived by her children, Taso (Christy) and Virginia; her grandchildren Demetre (Taylor) and Eleni.

Born in Stefani, Corinth, Greece, Helen immigrated to Canada in 1958, where she began a new life alongside her beloved husband. Together they built a life grounded in love, laughter and resilience.

Helen was a woman of grace and strength, with a lifelong love of learning. Her greatest joy was her family, especially time spent with her adored grandchildren. Helen’s warm smile, generous heart, and welcoming spirit touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her memory will be eternal in our hearts, forever treasured and never forgotten.

Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects at Turner & Porter “Yorke Chapel”, 2357 Bloor St. W., on Tuesday, October 21, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church, 115 Bond St., Toronto, on Wednesday, October 22, at 10 a.m., followed by interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hellenic Home for the Aged.
