It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Ciupak (née Sapkowski) on Monday May 20, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre at age 92. She passed away peacefully surrounded by love. Predeceased by her beloved husband of sixty years, Franciszek (Frank) Ciupak. Loving, caring and dedicated mother of Ted (Diane), Richard (Lisa Ann) and Diane (Peter). Cherished grandmother of Christopher (Roxana), Kasia, Adam, Matthew and Conrad. Great-grandmother to Felix and Olivia.

The youngest of four children, Helen was born in Hamulka, Poland in 1932. Her early years were lived during the difficulties of World War II in Poland. On St. Valentine’s Day 1957, Helen immigrated to Toronto, Canada where she met the love of her life, Frank. Helen lived her life guided by her strong religious faith and determination. She was welcoming, kind and loved to spend time with family and friends. She will be deeply missed.

Family and friends will be received at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, on Thursday May 23, 2024 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Rosary (Różaniec) will be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Casimir’s Catholic Church, 156 Roncesvalles Avenue, on Friday May 24, 2024 at 10 am. Interment will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery. For those who may wish, memorial donations may be made to Copernicus Lodge Foundation or to St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation of Toronto.
