In Celebration of

Halina Maria Urlich

June 6, 1961 -  June 25, 2019

After a difficult battle with uterine cancer, Halina passed away on June 25, 2019 at the age of 58. Halina is survived by her beloved husband Waldemar with whom she had been growing in love for 38 years, son Tomas, brother Richard and his wife Diana, niece and nephew Karoline and Alexander, extended family and friends.

Halina was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Polish immigrants Wacław and Wanda Trejgo who were displaced during the war. In 1970 her family immigrated to Canada where she later met and married her husband, and then spent the rest of her life. Although she never lived in Poland, Halina was immensely proud of her Polish roots and dedicated much of her free time to promote Polish culture in Canada. For decades she was a Polish cub scout leader and in more recent years was involved with the Royal Canadian Legion, in particular the Polish Branch #621. Halina will be remembered as a loving and honest person who was caring and thoughtful to everyone that she came into contact with. She was a genuine and unconditional giver who always put others' needs before her own.

Halina's family would like to express deep gratitude for the care, support and kindness of the staff and volunteers at the Ian Anderson House, the hospice where she spent the last week of her life. In memory of Halina, donations may be made to the Ian Anderson House using the following link: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/8416

Please join us in celebrating Halina's life on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 6-9 p.m. (Rosary at 8:15 p.m.) at Turner & Porter "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario Street. Funeral mass will be held at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, 4260 Cawthra Road on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 9:30 am. God bless!

Halinka, we've prayed for you and believed you would beat this demon. We are devastated and the loss of you. You were truly a remarkable leader who gave it her all. You will be sorely missed but never forgotten. You are in God's arms now free of pain. To the Urlich and Trejgo families, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

We met Druhna Halina through Podhale where our sons participated (Michael, Jakub and Karol). Halina was a role model of compassion, patience, care and respect who did her best to pass on these virtues to the next generation. Halina was a leader, teacher and friend with a beautiful character that will be greatly missed. We are with you in this time of grieving.
