In Celebration of

Guido Biocca

January 23, 1940 -  October 29, 2020

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Guido Biocca, at the age of 80 on October 29, 2020. Guido passed away suddenly at Credit Valley Hospital with his three daughters by his side, after complications suffered due to liver disease.

Beloved husband of Luigia (Ginette, predeceased 2013), devoted and loving father of daughter Victoria with husband Chris, daughter Antonina with husband Mike and daughter Nancy with husband Rob. Cherished grandfather of Stefanie, Alexandra, Nicolas, Madalen and Julia. Dearest brother of Piacentina, Nino and Giovanna (Jenny). Beloved uncle to many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Dad was tireless in providing for and protecting his family for his entire life. All that knew him loved his companionship, his generosity and his love of life. He was a humble man who put others before himself, right until the very end of his life.

He always inspired us to work hard and accomplish our goals, because “you have the capacity for that and for so much more.” He was tireless in guiding us, just as the definition of his name directed him, and always taught family love, respect and honour. One of his most favourite things was our large family gatherings, and having everyone together: nothing made him happier to be surrounded with family and friends. His unconditional love was felt by all.

The person he chose to be, and the way he lived his life has guaranteed that Heaven has gained another angel, and if we know our Dad, they are having one heck of a wild party. So many family members and friends who have predeceased him are now whooping it up in Heaven, with him and Mom.

Here on earth, we will struggle with the unbelievable loss and the inexpressible void we feel in our hearts. We know that he will be with us through our lives here, and one day, with the good grace of God, we will once again be reunited with him and our Mom.

We love you Dad, and our hearts ache with this loss. Please give our love to all in Heaven, and know that we miss you all already.

You will never be forgotten, and we promise that your legacy will live on for generations to come.

A private visitation for family will be held at Turner & Porter Peel Chapel on Friday, November 6, 2020. Funeral Mass to be held at Merciful Redeemer Church in Mississauga on Saturday, November 7, 2020, followed by the entombment at Glen Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery.

If desired, donations may be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society, with our thanks in advance.

My deepest and heartfelt condolences to you all on the loss of your father, grandfather and brother.

Vicky, Toni, Nancy, your father was as positive and uplifting a soul to all who new him, as he was to those who didn’t. That’s what I remember most about him. These characteristics are in each of you. Continue to uplift each other. He will always be right there uplifting you all.

So sorry for your loss.

RIP Compa Guido

Our deepest sympathy - your father was a wonderful man! I remember Toni ‘s birthday party and he was carrying his large bottle of vino - homemade and strong of course! He wanted everyone to enjoy in the celebration! RIP

Nonno loved to celebrate his birthdays at the Mandarin! So many of his favourite foods were available there. How many times did he go up for the fresh shrimp and cocktail sauce ... not enough times. We will miss these wonderful outings.

A fond memory I have of Nonno is when I would go visit him on my spares in high-school or on my days off when in university. I would always find him outside in his garden, or with his chickens in the back shed. He would always be so happy to have company for the short time I was there, we'd just sit, talk, and of course eat some food. I will always miss the old Enola house, and how happy you'd be outside in your massive garden.

A memory I have of my Nonno was from when he would pick me up from Kindergarten and then take me on a little trip. We would first go home and eat lunch with Nonna, but then he would bring me down to the lake to feed the ducks. We would spend about an hour or so down by the lake throwing bread and dried corn into the water. It was always a fun outing with Nonno, no matter where we went!

A fond memory we have of Nonno was when he would blast Italian music on his stereo in the kitchen, singing and dancing with us. He loved to call his grandchildren and have Italian music playing in the background. He liked to make even the smallest occasion a huge party!

Hi there. It’s me, Nicolas. The story I want to share is one of my excursions with Nonno and Nonna to the Celano-Canadian Club picnic. I was just a little boy and my sister Alexandra came also. It was a wonderful day, sunny, and so much fun.. We had a special day at a great park with lots of friends, food and events. I had so much fun there, I wanted to bring a part of it home with me. I snuck a frog into my Nonno’s Lincoln Continental – I am sure you are all familiar with his car. When you saw his car, you knew he was around somewhere. Anyways, I brought this frog into the car with me. My sister and I must have fallen asleep on the way home, as we really did have a fun-filled day. When we arrived at home, I could not find that frog anywhere. It was definitely in the car when we started for home, but I could not find it when we had arrived! Anyways, we were laughing about it for a long time. I can only guess that it must have got out of the car because we kept smelling for it long afterwards and the car did not stink up! Hope you’re smiling with me. 😊 Love Nicolas
