With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother, Guglielma Albanese (nee Torresan). She has joined family and friends in a place replete with knitting needles, yarn, and Bingo scratch tickets.

Guglielma emigrated with husband, Luigi (deceased ‘95) from Montebelluna, Italy to Ingersoll, Ontario in 1949. She resided there for 63 years before moving to Toronto in 2012.

She is predeceased by her sister Egidia and her brothers, Aristide and Luciano. Survived by her daughters Adriana (Gary), Gabriela (Charlie) and Maria (Brodie), she was a proud grandmother to Daniella (James), Ben (Noelle), Ashleigh (Prem) and McGregor and an especially proud Bisnonna (fondly known as NonnaB) to Odin, her sweet great-grandson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy.

Guglielma who had an unwavering faith in God, was intelligent, kind, warm-hearted, hardworking, and fiercely independent (still riding her bicycle about town in her 80s). Many life-long friendships were formed during her life and she was regularly described as ‘cute’ by those she met. Her absence will be immense.

We are grateful to the many doctors, nurses, PSWs who assisted her in recent years and extend a special thank you to Qamar, Guglielma’s special angel, for her gentleness and kindness.

A celebratory funeral mass will be held at a future date at Sacred Heart Church in Ingersoll followed by an interment in Ingersoll Rural Cemetery Mausoleum.
