Thank you all in advance for your love and support of our family and for my mom. She was a wonderful and kind mother, and a devoted Nana - in fact it's hard to find recent photos of her where she isn't holding a grandkid! I am lucky to have been raised by a mother who had such humour and joy in all the unique quirks that made her family hers, and who taught us to be honest, gentle, and strong. She always encouraged us to find humour even in the hardest times, to embrace our true selves, and follow our own paths. Although I miss her very much, I'm glad she is at peace and I am grateful for every moment we did have.
I remember dear Grace as an almost ethereal child. She was very gentle, kind, intelligent, and had a wicked sense of humour. Delightful to be around!!
Thinking of all of my cousins lately - and so happy that I have good connections with Stephen, Linda, Andy S., Paul M. and Paul S. Because of circumstance, distance and geography, I did not have much opportunity to share time with Grace and her family. I regret that so much.
Can only imagine how proud she was of her two talented girls. My heart goes out to them and their families.
Perhaps it isn’t too late to communicate by telephone . FaceTime or email with the rest of you. 250-744- 9421. My continuing love and respectful very best wishes to you all.
Grace was appropriately named as she was full of grace. Always a smile on her face, a sweet chuckle and a helping hand extended. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. May Grace be at peace and know she was loved❤
Dear Grace's family, Grace was a huge part of the Woodland's family. She had a wonderful sense of humour, an evident love of books, art and especially her fellow Woodlanders. She was great with customers both young and not so young., and even our regulars. She was an enthusiastic participant in all the various shenanigans at the branch- dressing up, writing witty poems, performing in skits and making costumes. She talked lovingly and proudly of her daughters, sons in law, and grandchildren.
I am so sorry she is gone, but please know how fondly she is remembered.
My deepest sympathy to you all,
with affection
Jo-Anne
I recently met Grace last February at the St James Gate restaurant in Etobicoke. Grace, and Sheila were with Steve and Gail at the table beside me, my brother Don and his wife Lorraine, and 5 other childhood friends from growing up in Etobicoke. Steve and I mentioned that we should have taken some pictures.
Grace will be both missed and remembered.
