In Celebration of

Gordon Roy Cork

January 11, 1933 -  June 21, 2024

Passed away peacefully, at home surrounded by his family on June 21, 2024 at the age of 91.

Predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Evelyn (2013). Loving father of Lynda, Wendy Whyte (Rick) and Gord (Jenny). Loving poppa to Gordy and Steven and loving grandpa to the late Brian Whyte.

Predeceased by brothers Clarence and Russell and sister Jeanette, and survived by sister Elsie.

Gordon will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends.

Gordon was a hard working, fun loving, and good natured man. His wonderful smile brought cheer to anyone who met him. He was devoted to his family and also enjoyed bowling, fishing, birdwatching, horse racing, watching the Leafs and Jays games, and gambling.

The family would like to thank Dr. Szeto of Credit Valley Hospital for his compassionate care.

We would especially like to thank his PSWs Delia, Agnes and Nancy for their wonderful loving care over the many years.

Donations may be made to The Salvation Army or charity of your choice.

Excellent timing...you didn't want to see Florida hoist the cup.

Dear Lynda, know that you and your family have been in my thoughts and prayers since we last talked.
I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved Dad. He was a wonderful guy, awesome birder and such a yummy strong, inspirational and determined man!
Regretfully, I’m not going to be able to attend the visitation or service for Gordon. As a ‘queen of the back roads’, there doesn’t seem to be an easy or stress-free way of getting to Turner and Porter for a brief visit for someone like me who lives in rural SW Ontario and no longer drives those busy and crazy 400 series highways.
As I would really like to spend some time with you, please let me know when you feel ready to receive a dear friend and guest at your Sauble Beach retreat.

Gord you will be missed. A man of few words, that include Yes, No, Gordon, and you can sing along to the best country tunes. My favourite though, and the most appropriate in your reprotoire since your stroke in 2014. "God damn it"!

Yo papa I cleaned out my friends for $40 at the fishing lodge poker game this past weekend!
