It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gordon Harold Willis on December 15, 2025, at the age of 78.
Gord had a distinguished career as a Chartered Accountant. After nearly 20 years as a partner with BDO Dunwoody, he devoted the later, and most fulfilling, part of his professional life to assisting small businesses in financial distress. Over a 16-year period, he worked with numerous companies, helping them stabilize operations and position themselves for success.
Gord later retired to the cottage in Muskoka where he always had a project on the go to keep himself busy. He could always be counted on to build or fix whatever was needed, having completed many projects that included his signature red and grey colour scheme. He was an avid reader and hiker and he and Carol Ann spent many wonderful years travelling and soaking up new experiences. A devoted grandfather, Grandpa Gord spent summers with his grandkids on boat rides, swimming, and other adventures. Gord loved making his famous breakfast sandwiches for all that visited, a glass of wine on the dock as the sun set over the horizon, and polishing off a pie with family and friends.
Gord is survived by his long-time partner, Carol Ann, and his children, Ben (Gini), Vanessa, Emma (Marc), Chris (Heather) and Darryl (Kristen). Grandpa Gord will be missed dearly by his grandchildren, Ruth, Noah, Whitney, Tessa, Poppy, Cole and Elise.
In keeping with Gord’s wishes for no fuss, there will be an informal drop in visitation to remember Gord’s life from 3pm-7pm on Monday, December 29th at Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. West, Etobicoke.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gord’s name to either the Muskoka Conservancy - https://www.muskokaconservancy.org/ or Festival of the Sound - https://festivalofthesound.ca.
