Gladys (Gwladys) Martin

January 8, 1927 - August 20, 2025

Peacefully, at the age of 98, Gladys passed away on August 20, 2025. Predeceased by her loving husband James (Jim) in 1981. Loving mother of Bruce (Patricia) and Carolyn Piitz (Dan). Proud grandmother of Darryl Martin (Erin), Janice McGregor and Alison Raney (Brian). Great grandmother (GG) of Aidan Martin, Brooks Raney and Kit Raney.

Gladys emigrated to Canada from Wales in 1936 with her parents and sisters. She is fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Turner and Porter “Peel” Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy 10 N of QEW) on August 30, 2025 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. where a Funeral Service will be held in the chapel at 3:00 p.m.

In Gladys’ memory donations may be made to Kingsway Lambton United Church Music Program or a charity of your choice.

Although I met Gladys only a few times, they are fond memories.
Gladys lives on in her son and daughter!

Gwlad was a terrific neighbour, always kind, and happy. Life on Strath Avenue was a lot of fun. Gwlad always encouraged an interest in music and was a strong supporter of daily piano practice. She was a magnificent volunteer at Kingsway Lambton United Church. The family participated strongly in various choirs and the Christmas pageant. She was also a great cook and I remember some yummy lunches and desserts at the Martins on Strath. Glad that you, Gwlad, played such a happy part of our lives. You will be greatly missed but very fondly remembered.
