In Celebration of

Giuseppe "Carlo" Donato

September 9, 1923 -  August 3, 2023

Giuseppe Carlo Donato, known to his loved ones as Carlo, peacefully passed away on August 3, 2023, in Mississauga, Ontario, at the age of 99, just 5 weeks from celebrating his 100th birthday. Born on September 9, 1923, in Pizzoni, Vibo Valentia, Italy, Carlo lived a remarkable life filled with love, wisdom, and dedication.

Carlo was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who served as an inspiration to many. His warm and caring nature earned him the respect and admiration of his friends, family, and community. Carlo's devotion to his loved ones was unmatched, and his presence will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted children: Marisa DeLuca, Rosalba Massara (Bruno), Orlando Donato (Donna), Julia Clarke, and his grandchildren, Gregory, Giancarlo, Jason, Laura, Sandra, Claudia, Adam, Kayla, Alyssa, Justin and Matthew. Carlo's legacy extends further through his 14 great-grandchildren, Daniel, Alessandro, Olivia, Michael, Matteo, Mila, Ava, Sophia, Valerie, Layla, Lia, Luca, Violet, and Vera who will carry his spirit with them as they navigate through life.

Carlo was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Caterina Donato. Their love story was one of strength and unwavering commitment, and their reunion in the afterlife brings solace to those grieving their loss.
A mass in celebration of Carlo's life will be held at St's Martha & Mary Parish, 1870 Burnhamthorpe Rd E, Mississauga, ON.
Carlo Donato's memory will forever be treasured by those whose lives he touched. He leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication that will continue to inspire generations to come. One of his common refrains "La Vecchia e na carogna e chi non-chi arriva e na vergonia” translated in English - old age is a burden but it’s a shame for those who don’t achieve it.
May his soul find eternal peace.
