October 11, 1931 - June 4, 2021

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Giovanni Greco on June 4, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, at the age of 89.

Beloved husband of Antonietta for 70 years. Dearly loved father of Nick (Linda), Maria (James), Anna (Gary).

Loving grandfather of Tyler (Deneika), Matthew, Cory, Jamie, Carrie, Randy (Jennifer), Chris, Mike (Monica), Steven, Nicole and Breanna.

Proud great-grandfather of Kingston, Callum, Conner, Quintan, Adrianna, Charlet, Ava, Mercedes and Michael Jr.

Dear brother of Tony (Gina) and Donatina.

Predeceased by his siblings Pierino, Peppino, Maria and Antonietta.

Brother-in-law of Emma and Frank Dipardo.

He will be forever missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours.

Giovanni was a long time employee of Dempster’s Bread for 40 years. He had a love for his garden, scratch tickets, playing cards, watching sports and attending San Costanzo Italian Picnics. More than anything he treasured time spent with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his hard work, kindness, and his willingness to always help others.

While our hearts are filled with sadness, the memories of him will live forever.

A private funeral mass and entombment will take place on Friday, June 11, 2021. The immediate family will have a private Celebration of Life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada or The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada in memory of Giovanni.

My father was a very hard working man. He taught me what it meant to work hard. Though he may not have expressed his feelings very often, I knew he loved me. He would do anything for his family, would give you the shirt off his back.

The last few years were very difficult for dad due to various health issues. He also missed my mother, the love of his life. He always looked forward to seeing her in the nursing home even though she could not speak to him due to dimentia.

Dad, i will miss you and you will never be forgotten.

Dear Ann, Nick, Maria and family. My deepest condolences on the loss of your beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather . All that new John would remember him for his kindness and always helping others and what a nice smile he had. He will be truly missed. For so many years when John needed my help, it was a pleasure to be there for him. God bless him and may he rest in eternal peace in heaven.
