In Celebration of

Giovanni Ferraro

February 19, 1932 -  October 11, 2021

With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Giovanni Ferraro in his 89th year, surrounded by his family on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Mississauga Trillium Hospital. Beloved husband of Luigina, loving father of Linda (Andrew), Julie (Linus) and Susie (Paul) & Maria (John). Grandfather of Nicole, Christopher, Daniela, Matthew, Madeline and James, Laura and Robert.

He was born on February 19, 1932 in Pietrafitta, Cosenza, Calabria, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1952.

Lovingly cherished by his wife of 63 years, he will be missed by all those who knew him. Giovanni was a hard working man with a generous spirit and a self-taught jack of all trades. He was always willing to lend a hand. Repairing cars, laying ceramic tile, fixing the plumbing, tending to his precious garden and making his incredible soppressata and prosciutto. He will be remembered for his love of family, his sharp wit and sense of humour.

His family appreciates the support they have received during this difficult time.

My deepest condolences to you Linda and to each and every family member. You introduced us to this remarkable man only through stories and photographs and video taken at the Long Term Care where he was but I was always touched by the glimpses of this great dad and by the incredible dedication and love and support from the 3 sisters. You have been a rock and inspiration to us about what a loving family should be. Thank you for sharing him with all of us love Evelyn

We have such fond memories of Mr. Ferraro at every family gathering offering a warm handshake, a joke, a kind word and most importantly his gentle laugh. He overflowed with happiness when surrounded by his grandchildren and its with truly heavy hearts that we hear of his passing. We send our love to the whole Ferraro clan. May his memory be eternal. –Eleni & Colin and Athos
