In Celebration of

Gertrude “Trudy” Pusler

July 7, 1929 -  April 20, 2023

Gertrude Pusler, “Tante Trudy” passed away on April 20, 2023, at the age of 93.

Trudy was born on July 7th, 1929, in Eggenfelden, Germany. One of eight children, she maintained strong, loving relationships with her parents and siblings, several of whom she nursed in their final days. Trudy flew back to Germany at least once a year to see family & friends, the last time being in 2019 for her 90th birthday celebration.

Trudy will always be remembered for her lively joie de vivre, her generosity, and her tireless efforts to build and maintain strong connections with family in Germany and Canada.

She was known to be very direct and outspoken, however, when she came to Canada seventy years ago, she was a naive young lady. Trudy came to Canada to work for the O’Briens, a family that always held a special place in her heart. After a few secretarial jobs, she began a long career with the CNE and made many long-lasting friendships with her co-workers. Trudy moved into the High Park Area in 1966 and remained there for the rest of her life, making many dear friends during that time.

In Canada, she is survived by the Zimmermann family including her niece Virginia (Sal), and nephews Peter (Lil), and Alan (Elena), grand nieces and nephews David (Christina), Julia (Dave), Michelle (Jesse), Jessica (Jason), Michael (Kim), Laura, and Stephen, great-grand nieces and nephews Johann, Isabel, Hudson, Matthias, Brooklynn, and Jaxon.

In Germany she is survived by her brother Hans and the Pusler families, niece Barbara and the Baumgartner family, nephew Konrad and the Hildebrand family, Joachim and the Herbel family.

There will be a Funeral Service on Saturday April 29th, 2023 at Turner & Porter, 2357 Bloor St W, Toronto M6S 1P4. Visitation begins at 2:00 p.m. with a short Service at 3:00 p.m.
