In Celebration of

Gerardo Ferracane

September 4, 1942 -  August 27, 2020

Gerardo “Gerry” Ferracane passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday August 27, 2020 in Etobicoke, Ontario at the age of 77.
Gerry is survived by his loving wife, Nina; his children, Brigitte, Chris (Marla) and Cinzia (Ignacio); and his grandchildren, Gavriel, Dahlia and Noah. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pietro and Brigida Ferracane.
Gerry was born in Muro Lucano, Potenza, Italy. He came to Canada in 1956 and was the eldest sibling amongst his brothers Tony (Gabe) and Danny (Emma), and his sister Maria, who will miss their big brother.
He graduated from both Ryerson and then York University with degrees in engineering and business, and had a long dedicated career as a Manager at Toronto Community Housing for nearly 40 years.
On July 1, 1972 he married the love of his life, Nina. Gerry was a devoted father and husband, who selflessly dedicated his entire life to ensuring his family was well taken care of. He loved going to the local coffee shops to enjoy his espressos, listening to his favourite operas and most of all, sitting down to a meal alongside his family and their annual family vacations. He will be deeply missed by his friends and large extended family and all those that knew him to be a loving, generous and hardworking person.
He will be laid to rest at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery. Donations to the Parkinson’s Canada would be appreciated (https://www.parkinson.ca/getinvolved/waystogive/#memory). The family would like to thank all of the staff at the Chartwell Westbury Long Term Care Residence for the care and support they provided to Gerry during the last year.

Please understand due to COVID restrictions this funeral service will be private. A memorial service and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
