In Celebration of

Geraldine “Gerry” Agnes Turner

October 15, 1923 -  January 30, 2024

Peacefully, on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Niagara Health Centre, in her 101st year. Beloved wife of the late William. Devoted mother to Susan (Wayne) and George (Joan). Adored grandmother to Matthew and Joshua (Beth). Step-grandmother to Sam, Allison, Sara, Ryan and Brent. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be missed by special friends Sheri M, Shelley W and Mary P.

Gerry worked for over 40 years at Algoods (a division of Alcan). She was a committed volunteer, including over 50 years with the 48th Highlanders Chapter IODE where she held several Executive positions and served on numerous committees and was given a Life Membership. She was Treasurer at Toronto Municipal IODE and for a number of years served on the Toronto Western Hospital Auxiliary.

After living in Toronto for the majority of her life, Gerry moved to Niagara Falls in 2010 and began a new life at Stamford Estates. She was involved in the Resident’s Committee and was always willing to assist when needed at fundraising events in the building community. In late 2022 she moved to Lundy Manor, where she lived until her passing.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lundy Manor for all their care and support. She spoke highly of her PSW’s and nursing staff and always enjoyed their talks and company.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., on Monday, February 19, 2024 from 2 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service in the Chapel at 3 p.m. For those who wish, donations may be made to either the 48th Highlanders Chapter IODE at iodetreasurer48@gmail.com or to the 48th Highlanders Trusts at https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/48th-highlanders-trusts

I love you, Aunt Gerry. I’m so sorry I wasn’t able to celebrate your last birthday in person. We spent too many years apart, but I certainly enjoyed every minute of the time we spent when we did get back together. All my Love……💔
