In Celebration of

Gerald (Gerry) Thomas

October 12, 1946 -  December 15, 2019

Peacefully at home, Gerry’s valiant 5-year struggle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis came to a close with his loving sister, Patricia Thomas, at his side. Gerry was born in Surrey England to the late Frederick and Winnifred Thomas (Inwards) and immigrated to Canada in 1948. Cherished younger brother of Christopher (Gladdie), dear uncle of Sarah Lynn Geer (Jeremy) and Craig Michael Thomas (Shona McLaughlin). Survived by great-nephews Chase, Jack, Lucas, William, great-niece Claire and extended family in England and USA. Gerry’s journey was supported by the love and caring of family friends: Ellen and Richard Kolwich, Jane and Ron Miles, Debbie and Hope Warga and especially Janice Leet.

Gerry was a proud Engineer with a successful career in the computer field. He enjoyed tinkering with model railroads trains and conversing worldwide with Amateur Ham Radio Operators. Gerry also had a special love for and enjoyed the company of the family Golden Retriever Hayley.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter "Neweduk-Erin Mills" Chapel (1981 Dundas St.W Mississauga) on Thursday, December 19, 2019, from 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Dominic's Catholic Church on Friday, December 20, 2019, at 11 a.m. Burial to take place at St. Joseph's Streetsville Cemetery, Mississauga.

If desired donations in memory of Gerry would be appreciated to Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation, 585 University Ave, Toronto, ON M5G 9Z9

He was my nicest boss to work for in Canada. I am sad that I did not get in touch with him again.

Sorry to hear that your brother has passed away. You will miss him.
