In Celebration of

Gerald Catenacci

July 3, 1927 -  December 11, 2020

July 3rd 1927- December 11th 2020

Peacefully, on Friday, December 11th, God called Dad to heaven, at the age of 93. Predeceased by his loving wife of 68 years, Mary-Anne (February 2020).

Born in Frosinone, Italy, to Pietro & Arcangela (née Fiore), Dad arrived in Canada as a toddler and quickly embraced Canadian life.

After graduating from U of T Civil Engineering (class of '52), Dad worked hard for his family. He started his own paving business and built many of the roads and median barriers throughout Ontario and the Maritimes. We're pretty sure Dad holds the record for fastest travel time between Etobicoke and Saint John, NB and positive he holds the record between Etobicoke and Fort Lauderdale.

He was loved and admired by all who had the pleasure to know him. A man of deep faith. Kind and honest, sharp and witty.

For Dad, his greatest love and success was his family. When asked "Dad, if you were to do it all over again, would you still have 7 children?" He replied "I'd have 7 more." Left to mourn are his children:
Anthony (Luz), Marlene (John Winning), Judy (Mark Clearihue), Maryanne (Steve Pipe), Peter (Michael Kuchs), Lou-Anne Haier and Gerry (Janet). Amazing grandpa to 15 grandchildren. Melissa (Heston) Lauren (Alex), Lisa-Marie (Dave), John Jr. (Stephanie), Ryan (Shelley), Sean, Marissa (Mike), Michelle (Mike), B. Michael (Maria-Su), Alison, Emily (Ryan), Maria (Mike), Michael, Daniela and Thomas. Great Grandpa to 7: Hayes, Ada, Ben, Lauren, Caroline, Addyson and Connor.

Dear brother of Helen Tonus, Victoria Damiani and the late Danny Catenacci.

Our family would also like to acknowledge the amazing staff at The McCall Centre (2nd floor LTC) for the extraordinary and compassionate care they provided. Please join the livestream of his Funeral on Tuesday at 1:30pm via the following link: https://youtu.be/Shx4BUefxlk
