In Celebration of

Gay Maurene Brioux

April 7, 1933 -  October 17, 2024

Gay Maurene Mary Elizabeth Brioux (nee Adam) passed away peacefully on October 17th. A loving wife, mother, mother- in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and sister-in-law. Mum suffered a stroke in 2018 and battled for 6 long years. We take comfort in knowing that Mum has been reunited with Dad, Paul, in heaven. We know that they are dancing together. Predeceased by her parents, George and Grace Adam, and her sister, Gloria.

Loving her forever are her children - Mike (Lynda), Maurene (Scott), Theresa (Brett), John (Susan), Darcy, Denise (Sal). Grandchildren – Paul, Tyler (Lindsey), Connor, Austin, Alexander, Jaime, Jasmine, Chantal, Nicole (John), Victoria, Matthew. Great grandchildren - Lincoln, Livy, Malcolm and Lennon. Sisters-in-law, Jackie, Charmaine (Dave) and Sharon (Bob).

At this challenging time, we are reminded of Mum’s three F’s - Faith, Family & Friends, to help us remember what is truly important.

Mum was a special lady with an absolutely beautiful smile and a pleasant demeanour. She could make you feel warm and welcome without even saying a word. Mum’s motto was to treat everyone with kindness and respect. Very simple, yet very powerful.

Thanks to her loving ‘family’ at Sunrise Senior Living, Mississauga. The level of care and the love that she felt was incredible. A very special thank you to Tracy and our “Angel on Earth”, Francene. The love and care that they provided was amazing.

Mums impact on people was incredible. God Bless you Mum. Rest in peace.

For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. www.heartandstroke.ca

Nana was truly one of the most remarkable people I have ever met. Her gentle nature and kindness was felt by everyone. I am deeply grateful for the love she showed me, Jasmine and Chantal. I treasure memories of the girls dancing for her, swimming in her pool or using all of those recyclables she had in the spare bedroom! I’m so grateful for the chats we had, especially in more recent years. Thank you, Nana, and God bless!

To all the Brioux family--I am so sorry to hear of Gay's passing. We worked together for 5 years at Holy Angels School. Gay was always caring , thoughtful and ready to learn and help. She had wonderful ideas to keep the children engaged. She was very artistic also, making things out of found or discarded objects. I really enjoyed working with her. RIP, Gay!!

Your warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched so many lives, and I feel blessed to have known you. You were a loving sister to my Nana and such a special part of our family. Your legacy of love and compassion will live on in all of us who were fortunate enough to know you. Rest in peace Aunt Gay. You will always be in our hearts.
