In Celebration of

Gary Allen Harris

October 11, 1940 -  April 26, 2021

Peacefully, on Monday, April 26, 2021, at Trillium Health Partners, at the age of 80.

Beloved husband of Sharleen (nee Fowler) for 58 years. Devoted father of Allen (Elizabeth) and Mike (Sherri), Loving grandfather of Alison, William. Matthew and Rachel.

Gary was so proud of his sons and their families.

Gary was a ham operator VE3INN. He built and flew radio controlled airplanes at the Mississauga Model Flying Club.
Gary enjoyed the game of golf and also curled at the Dixie Curling club for several years, assisting in bonspiels and particularly the Country Gentlemen league.

In 2004 Gary was introduced to Lawn bowling and became very much immersed in the sport at the Port Credit Lawn Bowling Club and later the Oakville Lawn Bowling Club. Gary became an Ontario Lawn Bowling Association umpire, where he made many new friends. He was a great instructor to new bowlers and felt really proud when they excelled in the sport. He assisted in running the Sunshine Boys at the Oakville Lawn Bowling Club and Port Credit Lawn Bowling Club.

Gary was a very supportive and loving husband and will be dearly missed.

A private family service has been held. Interment at a later date at Park Lawn Cemetery.

For those who wish, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Dear Sharleen,
This such sad news, Lauren and I send our deepest condolences to you and all your family.
Gary excelled as a bowler, a remarkably patient Umpire and wise mentor to so many new bowlers, myself included. His smiling and steady disposition when competing was worth watching, and enjoying.
May you recall in these dark moments the days you when you both walked in the sunlight, held hands and enjoy many laughs. Sincerely ian

We had some great times over the years at various clubs in our district. Gary’s contributions to the game were held with great respect. Will miss seeing that smile.
Sad days ahead for Sharleen and family but know you will support one another.
Heather.
