In Celebration of

Gary Alan Sanders

February 12, 1934 -  October 8, 2021

Gary passed away peacefully on Friday, October 8, 2021, at the age of 87. He was the beloved husband of Evelyn (pre-deceased) for 58 years, and a loving father of Joel and wife Nancy, Rob and wife Kim, and daughter Mary-Ann Lord and husband Steve. Gary was the proud and loving Papa to Amy, Andrew, Ashley, Matthew, Lisa, Amanda and Brian; and grand puppies Riley, Callie, and Spencer. Gary loved to dance, travel, drink beer, smoke cigars and watch football, after he retired from a 40 plus year career as a chiropractor. Gary will be remembered for his smile, generosity and steadfast love of Evelyn. He will be missed terribly by all.

A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Milton District Hospital, Unit 2 North, palliative care unit and Credit Valley Hospital.

Dr. Gary Alan Sanders and my husband Ernie were best friends from the age of 10 when they met at the west end YMCA. They spent many summers together at the Norval “Y” camp. Gary was best man at Ernie and my wedding. Evelyn, was a dear friend as well. We spent lots of family vacation time together when the children were young and often baby sat for each other in the early years. Many summers were enjoyed together at Lake Belwood, along with Gary’s sister Doreen and her husband Bob. Ernie and Gary placed bets on the Super Bowl each year - Ernie usually losing! I carried on the tradition with Gary when Ernie died, with similar results. My condolences to Gary and Evelyn’s family. They were loving parents and grandparents, always proudly sharing family successes with us. Gary is now relieved from the pain of circulatory disease which plagued him for years. I hope he and Evelyn are now reunited in their next journey. I’ll continue to miss both of them.
