In Celebration of

Gale N. Archibald (nee LeLacheur)

September 27, 1934 -  December 9, 2021

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, peacefully, in hospital last Thursday evening. Family was with her until the end.
Gale is survived by her daughter Carolyn (David Noyes), son Geoffrey (Svetlana) and Brother Clayton (Zelma). She was predeceased by parents Mildred (nee White) and Roland LeLacheur. Just four years ago she lost her lover, best friend and light of her life, husband Dr. Jerry Archibald: With 63 blissful years together as partners in life, they are together again now.
Mom was remarkable for not just her outstanding beauty and intelligence, but also keen wit and easy sense of humour. She was always modestly surprised by how readily she charmed everyone who met her. She gave love and received it; in equal bounty. Rather than mourn our loss, we hope she is remembered with gratitude for having had her in our lives.
Gale will be cremated and there is no service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.

I am so sad to hear about Gale’s passing. I remember speaking to her not so long ago and she was always so possitive.

Please accept my Condolences - she was a Grand Lady

Mom would have loved this verse that was sent to me today. I believe it expresses her desires:

I Have a Choice

I can shed tears now that you are gone.
Or, I can smile because you have lived.

I can close my eyes and pray that you'll come back.
Or, I can open my eyes and see that you were here.

My heart can be empty because I can't see you.
Or, I can be full of the love we shared.

I can turn my back on tomorrow and live for yesterday.
Or, I can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

I can remember you and only that you are gone.
Or, I can cherish your memory and let it live on.

I can cry and close my mind, be angry and turn my back.
Or, I can do what you'd want me to do.

Smile. Open My Eyes. Love and Go On.
