Fusako Mary Hama, 89, passed in her sleep, on May 12, 2022. Born on September 28, 1932 in Cumberland, British Columbia, Canada. Beloved wife of Yoneo Henry Hama for 61 years and cherished by her children, Melvin (Jean) Hama and Sharon (Robert) Marr. Loved by her grandchildren Aidan and Brandon Hama and Caroline and Emiko Marr. Remembered by her brother Takao (Sue) Doi. Mary was predeceased by her parents Denjiro and Fusayo Doi, and brothers Ikuo and Manabu Doi. Mary was a loyal employee of Canadian Standards Association until retirement. Mary had an energy for life that will always be remembered and cherished by all. She was a hard worker who balanced work with caring for her family and friends. Mary loved the Blue Jays, bowling, travelling, caring for neighbourhood pets, and visiting with her grandchildren. Mary’s family extends their gratitude to the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Unity Health and Dr. Amy Wong for the care and support they provided. Visitation will take place on Thursday May 19th, 2022, from 1:30-3:00 pm at the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel Funeral Home located at 2357 Bloor St. W, Toronto. A private funeral service will be held. Mary’s family has asked that there be no Koden. Donations may be made in Mary’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society, La Ki Shing Knowledge Institute St. Michael’s Hospital Unity Health, and St. Joseph’s Hospital Unity Health.
